THE PREPARED KID™
Brave. Capable. Ready to Help.
Kids are capable of more than we sometimes give them credit for.
The Prepared Kid gives children practical, age-appropriate skills to recognize emergencies, get help, stay safe, and take simple actions that could make a real difference before an adult or first responder arrives.
Through hands-on activities, realistic scenarios, and kid-friendly instruction, students learn that being prepared isn't about being scared.
It's about knowing what to do.

PREPARED, NOT SCARED
Preparedness shouldn't make children afraid of the world around them.
Our approach emphasizes:
Awareness instead of anxiety.
Confidence instead of fear.
Action instead of panic.
Children are never expected to replace an adult, EMT, firefighter, police officer, or other professional responder.
Instead, we teach a simple priority:
STAY SAFE → GET HELP → HELP IF YOU CAN
That principle follows students through every level of The Prepared Kid™.
MORE THAN FIRST AID
The Prepared Kid is ultimately about developing capable young people.
Along the way, students practice:
-
Responsibility
-
Leadership
-
Communication
-
Problem solving
-
Situational awareness
-
Helping others
-
Staying calm
-
Making good decisions
Those skills matter during emergencies.
They also matter everywhere else.
